The energy of making a profit

By Cathy

Looking at the energy outcome of anything in life’s equation, has proved invaluable to me. I learned that if I could figure out the solution to the mathematical equation of anything I could place within the field of energy dynamics, I did not have to judge its goodness or otherwise, or even form an opinion. This process allowed me to instinctively know which actions lack integrity, and which do not. Looking at the reality of profit in our modern society, one could be forgiven if the question arises – is profit a bad thing? Unfortunately that depends on who you ask. Some members of our society have suffered greatly due to the greed and excessive profit-making methods out their in the market place. From my perspective, as explained above, the answer for me personally lies in how profit unfolds itself into the psyche of the human being living in today’s world. If the presence of profit in our world unfolds into a space and in so doing causes all kinds of distress, it does not fall into the camp where integrity reigns. If profit making helps the world and its people, and benefits all, it creates balance and harmony is the result. Harmony always results from integrity.

Second question. Am I, and those who think like me, the only ones to have figured out that humans, as energy beings, are quite capable of determining whether someone is creating a blockage in the energy plane we live in, or whether someone allows for and creates flow through their actions? No, we are not alone in that. Every human being on this planet has that very same ability. Third question. Why is this relevant? Because this means that you will always know when you are up to no good. And sometimes, that is simply not what you want to hear. It is in the nature of humans to begin justifying their actions, if they know they creating a blockage in life’s flow, but do not want to refrain from doing so. It becomes very important to someone in the situation to not only justify what they are up to, but to convince others that what they are doing, is perfectly in order

The best kind of justification for actions that create energy blockages, is to find a few buddies in the same boat, who are happy to agree with the same actions you would like to continue to do. Now there are a few people who know they are not doing the right thing, but surely, they are entitled to that? And so it begins. Groups and gatherings doing harmful things, but agreeing with each other that actually, they are doing this for the greater good of all. And since they are doing good, they are entitled to be compensated for the contribution. At this point, there is still a voice on the inside speaking much too loudly. Silencing an inner voice of dissent alerting you to a deep wounding in the soul that is being caused by the harmful actions, is easy. Just slap a plaster on the wound. And if it begins to leak, than swop the plaster for a bandage. Change the bandage regularly be reaffirming the decisions of a group of people who as a collective has decided to do harm, but to label their deeds as good business practices. Industry standards, chambers of commerce, standard of practice. It also helps if these upstanding citizens in society are staunchly religious folk, happy to be outspoken about their beliefs. And then there are all those good deeds they do – donating this and that to various organisations, and sometimes going the extra mile by donating anonymously.

It is important to know where you stand on this, because you need to know how many plasters and bandages you have applied to your soul. When we cannot bear to acknowledge the deep wound in our souls that forms and grows over time when we blindly believe that we are entitled to profit, without understanding what profit is, and how it relates to our souls.

On this planet, profit has taken many forms. Profit margins have been established by clever people, and industries are very precise when it comes to determining industry standard. When was the last time you entered a board room, or a chamber of commerce? Have you ever seen anyone other than the profit makers in there? Why not? Because if those who have to foot the bill for the profit the profit makers feel they are entitled to, are allowed into those meetings and board rooms, their profits would shrink drastically. Suddenly, what they are entitled to, would be much less. This is why in our modern world, the policy when determining profit margins is built on the exclusion of those who stand to make no profit – the clients, the patients, the employees, the consumers.

It was therefore quite easy to build industries where it has become totally acceptable or the industry standard to make huge amounts of profit. One would think that if the entity collecting all the profit, would also be the entity bearing the concomitant losses. But no. In the chambers of commerce and other gatherings where business people decide how much profit they will make off the labours of ‘lesser’ people, the unanimous decision has always been that the losses should be passed down to those who are considered responsible for it. It has become acceptable standard practice to force employees to sign unilaterally changeable employment agreements, so that the employers have free reign over the fortunes of the employees. Industries and business gatherings decide how much workers and employees would be paid. In our country the work force has finally had some say in the matter, but it is not an easy process. In general, an employee has to take what he or she can get, or leave. But when it comes to collecting profit, only a very small handful of employers have ever introduced profit sharing. Most, however, have been dabbling in loss sharing. If the employee breaks something, the employee carries the loss. The employer will always happily reduce their losses by passing them on to the employee. But the profits?

And so, it is all allowed, and industry standard. ‘Everyone does it.’ ‘Employees should be grateful that I am providing them with a job.’ ‘I was taught about what I am entitled to in many workshops for business skills.’ ‘Smart business practice entitles me to earn a high profit.’ ‘Without me they won’t have a job.’ But what did these workshops teach about the fact that when the members of a business community get together to decide what employees in their small town should earn, things can go very badly wrong. What happens when these people start agreeing to fix salaries and wages, so that no employee can abscond and work somewhere else for more money? In this way, a handful of people can keep their ‘cost to company’ low. And the families working for them face the harsh reality of no raise in income, small bonuses, if any. It is pointless to complain, or to apply for another job in the same town. Because once business people have started ignoring what they know is wrong, the are the only ones who can remove the plasters they have liberally applied to the cuts in their souls, eventually to replace the plasters with thick bandages.

There are many types of bandages. When a group of people doing the same misdeed become friends or ‘contacts’, they start looking out for each other. Some form of loyalty begins to build between fellow perpetrators. They always organise themselves in an acceptable grouping, usually with a very formal name, and after opening the meeting with a prayer, they happily spend the time agreeing with each other how great they all are at doing business. They even have an annual friendly competition, and hand out trophies to the one who excels the most at the business practices they have come up with. At these gatherings they agree on how much profit they are entitled to, and how, in order to retain such high profit margins, they simply have no choice but to keep their cost low. Employees are ‘cost to company’ expenses, and have to be paid as little as possible. People really should be grateful for their jobs. At least they can put food on the table.

Sadly, the employee remains a ‘cost to company’, until that employee drops something and it breaks. Suddenly the person collecting all of the profit, becomes entitled to pass the loss on to someone who is not making any profit at all. The employee is forced to absorb the losses. Someone who is already doing all the dirty work, does not get to go away for weekends, and never travels overseas, must now also carry the losses of the business. An employer is legally liable to third parties for any accident cause by its employee in the course of employment. So why can the employer not carry the losses of any accidental damage caused by its employee? The answer is simple. Greed. The profit margin should be protected at all costs. The one who has not had a raise in years, and whose work hours have been extended without additional payment, while their leave days were unilaterally reduced, must pay for the breakage. These almost unforgivable acts of greed were no doubt cooked up at some of these meetings where the profit makers agreed that all of these practices were not only acceptable, but smart business sense, and industry standard. Others are doing it, so that makes it okay for me to do it too. But do any of these business people who open their meetings with prayer, ever remember that the people bearing the consequences of the greedy decisions of employers and business owners did not attend any of these meetings? And they were no invited to attend either. If employers invited employees to their business gatherings, they would never get consensus on their profit margins. They know that. The reasoning is very much the same as it had been over the ages, like when a group of people decided to burn innocent people at the stack, or subject them to torture without proper trial. And when there was a trial, only the evidence of the accusers were heard.

Well, the one good things is that today we have a modern legal system, and no longer have to face the dungeons. That is a bit of an optimistic statement, sadly. Because mankind always finds a way to harm. And when it comes to profit, they manage to steal from those they consider lesser people, and dress it up as industry standard. And if a bandage is needed, the religion tenets serve well to convince all who look upon these people, that they are good, as the serve the one true God. So do the employees who are exploited. Their prayers are heard too.

What do these soul bandages look like? Sadly, religion is a big favourite. Many people who are profit driven, find their way into a grouping that prides itself on being based in religious principles. No one could argue that great profit is merely a blessing bestowed by a benevolent Creator who is acknowledged in the gatherings of the profit makers. These people make public donations, they help here and there where they get public acknowledgement, and they make a difference in so many ways. They do paint a pretty picture. But, in the energy world, this picture looks very, very different.

A well-paid employee is able to buy what is needed for his or her family. They need no hand outs. Yet many business people whose plasters are not thick enough to completely erase the fact that they know they are exploiting others, try to address the situation through magnanimous donations and gifts. What they forget, is that they are donating from funds that they were not entitled to in the first place. When employees are paid what they are worth, the business will make much less profit. The owner would not be able to go on quite so many trips. They would also not need to make so many donations to feel better about themselves. Even if these donations are anonymous, they are often merely in reaction to the fact that they know they have made money they were not entitled too.

Ask yourself – do you make more profit and benefit more than the labourer who made or built or baked the thing you are making profit out of? Is it okay for a farmer to make one Rand in profit on every litre of milk put out into the market, while the store makes 60% profit? Is it in order for a writer to get twenty cents per book, when the bookstore takes 65%? And so the list goes on … Massive profits are made every single day, by people who tell themselves they are entitled to that, because those who do the same thing that they are doing, said it is okay to do so. The fact that the consumer, the worker, the employee, the patient, the client, etc. was never asked for their opinion, is not important.

Oh, but it is. Because as long as this planet keeps spinning, it will be doing so in an energy field. And there, balance is required. And as long as energy is distorted, there will be distortion in the field within which humans live. Energy does not lie. Every human knows when they are taking profit they are not entitled to. Their bodies tell them that. No Bible verse, chamber meeting or business colleague is going to change the fact that making unjustified profits WILL harm someone, and in the end, what you have done to others, will come full circle. And then no one’s opinion will matter. Life will show you what you have done, when that bandage is removed to expose the gaping hole in your soul that you tried to cover up with shiny things and words.

There is actually an easy test. I asked above if profit is a bad thing, and said that it depends on who you ask. I have never met an exploited person who thought that profit is a good thing, because fair profit is rare. So ask yourself – is profit a good thing? And when the answer is yes, perhaps ask yourself why that was your answer.
